sara point 6Sara manages administration and operations for NYLAG, including human resources, information technology and office management. She is responsible for developing and maintaining office-wide systems to track outcomes and improve productivity, works closely with the Finance Department to monitor budgets and reporting, and provides senior management with leadership and guidance, including multi-year strategic planning. Sara also oversees the NYLAG’s development team, which is responsible for the organization’s revenue generation.

Most recently, Sara was Assistant Vice President, Institutional Advancement at Hunter College, where she built a leadership team and developed organizational strategies for the Hunter College Foundation (HCF). In her role she: directed the Foundation’s daily activities, including fundraising, grant administration, special events and alumni affairs; forged successful relationship with Board Executive Committee and Committee Chairs to advance strategic initiatives; ensured adherence to all 501c3 standards and norms; and worked to preserve the ongoing financial health of HCF.

Before joining Hunter College, Sara served for over ten years at two City of New York agencies. Most recently she was Assistant Commissioner of the Department of Finance, where she was responsible for the oversight and administration of the city’s 30 property tax benefit programs, oversaw New York City commercial parking ticket operations, and introduced a number of new systems and policies that increased accountability and productivity. Earlier Sara was an Assistant Commissioner of the Taxi & Limousine Commission.

Sara received her Master of Public Administration from New York University, and her Bachelor of Arts in Government and Sociology from Connecticut College.
