Lisa is responsible for managing NYLAG’s legal programs by ensuring alignment with client and community need and fostering team work and cross-collaboration among units and projects. Lisa also manages the development and implementation of professional training programs for staff and works with the senior leadership team in providing direction and leadership of the organization, including strategic planning and the development of programs.

Prior to her role as Managing Attorney, Lisa most recently served as NYLAG’s Director of Strategic Initiatives, where she worked with NYLAG leadership to strengthen the organization’s capacity through special initiatives including a strategic planning process.

Lisa joined NYLAG in 2003 as a Staff Attorney in the Matrimonial & Family Law Unit and supervised the Courtroom Advocates Project, a program that trains and supervises law students to assist survivors of intimate partner violence in family court. She became the Associate Director from 2008-2016 and was the Acting Director of the Matrimonial & Family Law Unit. She supervised a team of dedicated advocates representing survivors of intimate partner violence in immigration, matrimonial and family law matters.

Earlier, Lisa worked at the National District Attorney’s Association where she assisted in developing trainings on domestic violence, sexual assault and forensic evidence. Lisa co-directs the Domestic Violence Clinical Center in conjunction with St. John’s University School of Law, where she is an adjunct professor. She is a member of the Lawyer’s Committee Against Domestic Violence and served on the Family Court/Family Law Committee of the NYC Bar Association. Lisa has received the Courtroom Advocates Award for her empowerment of domestic violence victims and a Public Service Award from the New York County Lawyers’ Association. She received her J.D. from George Washington University Law School and a B.A. from Bucknell University.
