Ed joined NYLAG as Associate Director of the Tenants’ Rights Unit to become part of a team of dedicated legal professionals who are aiding the City in implementing the right to counsel for tenants. Ed supervises TRU’s Queens team and helps guide new and recent law school graduates in becoming part of the next generation of attorneys providing NYC tenants with a fair shake at preserving their homes, keep their families stable, and averting homelessness. After graduating from CUNY School of Law, Ed started his legal career at the AIDS Center of Queens County representing indigent HIV-positive individuals in Housing Court, Family Court, and before various administrative tribunals. Immediately prior to NYLAG, Ed was a staff attorney at the community-based nonprofit Housing Works, Inc., where he focused almost exclusively on housing-related matters for clients. Ed earned his undergraduate degree from New York University.
