NYLAG Testifies for Universal Access to Legal Services for Tenant’s Facing Eviction to be Expanded.

NYLAG’s Associate Director of Tenants’ Rights, Ed Campanelli provided written and verbal testimony at the annual public hearing on the NYC Office of Civil Justice’s program to provide Universal Access to Legal Services for Tenant’s Facing Eviction. He argued that there’s an urgent need to expand universal access/right to counsel, improving communications between HRA and tenants, and improving referral mechanisms that connect attorneys with tenants at risk of eviction at the earliest stage.
