NYLAG welcomes volunteers with various levels of experience and diverse backgrounds. Presently, we work with attorneys, both active and retired, law school graduates, law school students, paralegals, college graduates, college students and more. Experience is not as important as commitment to promoting equal access to justice to those unable to afford legal representation.
All volunteers are assigned a supervising attorney to work closely on a daily basis. Volunteers work in our office and are given a cubicle, computer and phone. Volunteers work directly with clients and can expect to provide legal and factual research, litigation preparation, client advocacy, discovery, motion practice and more.
If you are interested in volunteering with NYLAG, send a resume and cover letter to volunteer@NYLAG.org. In the cover letter, please indicate the days, hours, and duration of your
availability.
