The Domestic Workers’ Rights Project (DWRP) provides free education, advice, and legal representation to domestic workers in the New York City area.
DWRP represents domestic workers with employment-related claims. Such issues include:
- minimum wage
- overtime pay
- employment discrimination
- unemployment insurance claims
DWRP also helps foreign-born domestic workers who are victims of trafficking with applications for T-visas and related civil litigation. DWRP assists foreign-born domestic workers who have been subjected to abuse, violence, or other criminal acts in the workplace with U-visa applications.
In addition to providing legal assistance and advice, DWRP provides trainings for domestic workers’ regarding their workplace rights at community organizations throughout New York City.
