NYLAG to Hold its First-Ever Gala at the Pierre Hotel
While NYLAG has been in existence since 1990, it has never before held a large-scale event to commemorate its achievements and raise funding for its programs. The milestone of the organization’s 20 th anniversary is the impetus for its first-ever Gala, to be held on March 30, 2011. The event will honor Abby S. Milstein, longtime NYLAG Chair of the Board and Founding Partner of Constantine Canon LLP; and Sharon L. Allen, Chairman of the Board of Deloitte; with co-chairs Joseph Polizzotto, Marcia N. Riklis, and Barry Salzberg.
Under the banner of “Empowering Women and Girls,” the Gala will celebrate NYLAG’s accomplishments in addressing the legal needs of New York’s low-income women of all ages, ethnicities, and orientations. Over 350 guests are expected to attend the event at the historic Pierre Hotel, which will include a cocktail hour, silent auction, and a seated dinner program featuring journalist Jeffrey Toobin, who will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Attended by prominent professionals and corporations, the Gala is expected to raise substantial funding to support NYLAG’s law projects.
