Belovic v. Doar: U.S.D.C., S.D.N.Y. Class action filed in April of 2007 challenging Adult Protective Services’ (“APS”) systemic failure to provide mandated services to disabled individuals who are unable to protect themselves from harm.  The parties negotiated a settlement of plaintiffs’ motion for a preliminary injunction on behalf of the Named Plaintiffs and have an informal agreement through which plaintiffs are able to obtain relief for other members of the proposed class.  After significant discovery on the class certification issue, the parties are currently engaged in settlement discussions.  (JGS, ST, JM, JR)  (Co-counsel: Proskauer Rose LLP)
