Randye Retkin
Randye Retkin is the Director of the LegalHealth. Before coming to NYLAG, Randye served as Director of Legal Services for Gay Men's Health Crisis in the 1990's. She is nationally recognized for her work on building collaborations between professionals working with chronically ill populations, and on helping these populations access medical and legal systems to ensure their well-being. Co-author of one of the first significant articles addressing collaborative care for chronically ill populations, Ms. Retkin recently planned and implemented a Conference of Asthma and Housing, and has provided consulting and legal assistance to projects addressing the needs of people with breast cancer, multiple sclerosis, and other chronic and serious illnesses. She also conducted a six month project focusing on increasing access to information about and navigation of the managed care system for people living in New York City.
